Leo Burg
You might know him from bombarding and crashing your social media apps weekly, if not daily, scrolling down with posts, snaps, IG stories, and tweets of not more than awesome posts of things to see, do and recommendations for an awesome experience.
As a social media enthusiast, I had no other choice but to pencil in a meet up with Leo Burg to not only get to say I know another inspiring and amazing individual on this planet, but to also brighten up Weekly Al’s week with his many amazing achievements and personal growth.
Before reading further into the story, I have to add that Leo is probably one of the most ambitious men of the millennial generation that I have ever had to cross paths with, and may I add – what an awesome privilege it was to have met such a standup guy with good morals, excellent values, and big dreams.
Now that I am done with the compliments, let me let you get to know him. Born and raised in Secunda till the end of High School, Leo moved to the hustle and bustle lifestyle which is Pretoria to study design at Inscape, where he is already convinced that he signed up at the best design institute in South Africa. Being active in the field of creativity at the young age of 16, he continued to pursue and excel in many projects till to this day. Describing himself as a person who is always keen to learn, it seems that Leo has a hunger that will hopefully never settle.
Even though he is now only fresh to the new university lifestyle, he already had a small taste of the big, bad adult world with a celebrity flavor. Leo is associated with new and upcoming South African talent in the entertainment industry alongside playing ambassador to many uprising companies and facilities associated with health and fitness.
Reverting back to the period of his teenage years, Leo was confronted with major social complexes. It is no secret that outer impressions are a major factor when forming a social group, siding along with specific preferences and likes, but those things aside - friendships and relationships can be quite taxing if it succumbs to pressure from either of them. Unfortunately, Leo was a victim of this situation that caused not only physical but also emotional damage.
When emotionally injured due to break ups in friendships and relationships, trust in people and later on in oneself, can increase and lead to an unstable and unhappy persona which will cause a ripple effect towards a dark path. Fortunately, there are ways to prevent emotional damage and unhappy lifestyles, and Leo found it!
After a break-up from a long term relationship, Leo started to surround himself with positive, influential people and adopted a healthy lifestyle – literally and figuratively. It seems relatively easy when a person read this, but it is a complex transition and only through positive support, calm and happy environments, and a flick of the switch in your mind will it be possible to make such a life-changing transformation.
Leo is one of many perfect examples of “it is not who you know, but who you are as a person and what people find in yourself as remarkable.” He is also a very firm believer in the saying “Everything happens for a reason” and he believes that everyone needs to experience pain and grief no matter how small it is so that growth can form tenfold. Before finishing his degree, Leo already tends to break academic, occupational and personal boundaries. He aims to better himself physically and emotionally so that confidence will be a permanent resident in his life.
This post portraits a young man who was a victim of depression, sadness, no confidence, a broken self-image, and mistrust in people that led up to a period of loneliness. This post tends not be a lecture, but to serve as proof that Leo excelled in growing from this dark past, into the confident individual who he is now, and it is exciting to mention that there are more stories and growth to expect from this remarkable guy.
Be sure to follow up on what #LeoLoves, the adventures he will take on and people who he will be involved with. This is a social media icon that you will regularly want to refresh on your apps.
Cheers for this week,
WA
