Let me start with saying this guy… what a guy (laughing internally). If you need a pick me up, a good laugh and good company even if it is through social media. Hit him up. You can call him Heinrich Badenhorst.

 

His online name might not carry any relevance towards any known monarchy, but his kind soul and courageous spirit as a human are what makes him royalty. It is always fun to describe people in one word, and as for Heinrich – colorful. Which is fitting because of Demi Lovato’s song Lala land being his favorite and all.

 

Being a two year YouTube vlogger, a foreign teacher in Thailand, a new and inspiring photographer and videographer at Dil8te Productions, and social icon on many platforms, I still didn’t know how I got so lucky to meet him until it hit me with a bottle opener. A good chat with a drink in hand, mutual friends, and music in the background at the 2nd to best EDM Festival in the world - Ultra South Africa.

 

Fate is a very tricky concept to understand. I have personally given up on asking why and what for and rather just went with the flow, and as fate would have it I met Hein at Ultra for only a short time. You would think that I am making too big of a fuss about a mate who I just met at a music event and believe me at that time I did as well. But little did we know that what would be in store for us, would mean that we would be seeing more of each other in another country!

 

Like many others, Heinrich is caught in the net of the complicated rat race of school, university and work. Unfortunately,  one of those legs is not meant for everyone to run and this is where the question comes in. Why a foreign teacher and why Thailand?  Well everyone needs a time in their life after school to break away and clear their mind. Heinrich is an individual that will, with utmost courage, take any opportunity that comes his way and as lady luck would have it, she decided to be very generous in his favor. And as for being a teacher? Easy. What more fun ways are there then to inspire and be inspired by youth who are eager to learn and grow towards their own dreams and ambitions?

 

With both on course to Thailand, we had no clue of what would be waiting for us and little did we know how dependable we would be from everyone one involved. But I know Heinrich would gladly sit down with you one day and elaborate on the juicy stories of the Asian chapter of his life so let’s not get stuck on that.

 

His opportunity in Thailand gave him the time to go on a walkabout and genuinely find his passion. Fate might have blockaded his journey in Asia after ten months, but it gave a shortcut to a new one to reach out to that passion which is now known today as Dil8te Productions.

Now here is where our chapter ends, and his new one begins.

 

Being back in South Africa with a passion for filmography in heart and hand, two key motivators caused the motion of giving life to Dili8te Productions. The support and positive vibes of people surrounding him and the fear of living a mundane life. Now a running and successful company, Dil8te Productions is on the role along with two other crew members, best friend Wessel Botha and younger brother Stephan, all excited to live their dream and passion through each other. Success is gained through teamwork, but in fact,  it is always earned by joined passion and support.

 

With fate being the theme of this story, it is safe to say that it has a plateful in store for Hein and his dreams. Wherever it may lead to, it is sure that he will handle it with care and excitement. Look out for him and the rest of the crew at Dil8te Productions and have your story snapped on film to remind yourself that it is never too late to start with what you love and never impossible to pursue it to the reaching point of success.
